Spaced Synopsis

A quirky situation comedy revolving around the lives of a dysfunctional group of interesting and specifically different group of friends living in a rented flat within a house in the urban setting of London.

Spaced mainly follows the lives of two twenty-something year olds co-habiting under the guise of a professional couple and their attempt to survive in the rat race of modern society whilst still incorporating element of both fantasy and surrealism. The two main characters Tim Bisley (Simon Pegg)  an aspiring comic book artist and graphic designer who also enjoys the delights of puff now and then he is a small child in a mans body and tends to be aggressive and emotionally unstable. He has also recently broken up with his girlfriend and is dealing with the emotions that come with break ups. Daisy Steiner (Jessica Hynes) Daisy is a delusional mid 20s slightly scatter brained woman who up until now has been living in a squat with her drug taking buddies, she is bubbly and highly emotional and generally speaking miles apart in personality from Tim.

The main story line of spaced is how they meet and how over time these two radically different people come to rely on each other both emotionally and to survive and also how they grow emotionally. It’s a typical guy meets girl but with a twist. Spaced also has a number of other characters these are:
Marsha, she is the land lady of the flat which the bogus couple rent from. She is an alcoholic self obsessed woman in her mid 40s early 50s she is the oldest of the group but she does not behave that way she appears to be doggedly trying to hold on to her youth reminiscing on events of her youth and turning to alcohol to soothe the problems that have befallen her.
Mike Tim’s military obsessed bit of a fantasist idiotic friend who tends to spend a large amount of time in the flat wearing camouflage and doing sweet FA. Mike however does have his comedic moments, his humour tends to be dry bordering on black he is however an essential member of the group.
Last but not least Brian, an artist who seems to have a split personality. He has very little to say and is very serious but as with Mike he does have his moments of pure hilarity.

What sets spaced apart from other TV series is the use of odd and unusual camera angles, and fast paced editing that give it a unique feel and look also its use of graphic art in various places gives it a indie type feel and furthers the surreal and abstract take on life which these charecters possess
